Reason for this visit

As one of the largest markets around the world, Japan is the first country putting cryptocurrency under regulation. So there are plenty of cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan, as well as many overseas exchanges seeking to access the market. In order to help investors to get a more comprehensive understanding of the country's cryptocurrency exchanges, the survey team will go to Japan for on-site visits to local exchanges.

On-site visit

In this issue, the investigation team went to Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange Zaif (licensee: Fisco Cryptocurrency Exchange Inc.) as planned according to its regulatory address that 2-18-15 Araki-cho, Kishiwada-shi, Osaka-fu.

The survey team arrived at the destination on February 28, 2023, where a three-story building was situated, 19-minute walking distance from Haruki Station. The building wasnt open even during working hours, which was said to be closed for a long time. Therefore, the survey personnel failed to enter it.

Conclusion

The survey personnel went to Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange Zaif as scheduled, but didn‘t find the company’s office at its regulatory address, which suggests that the company doesnt have a physical presence here. Investors are advised to make a sensible choice based on a comprehensive consideration.
