Reason for this visit

As one of the largest markets around the world, Japan is the first country putting cryptocurrency under regulation. So there are plenty of cryptocurrency exchanges in Japan, as well as many overseas exchanges seeking to access the market. In order to help investors to get a more comprehensive understanding of the country's cryptocurrency exchanges, the survey team will go to Japan for on-site visits to local exchanges.

On-site visit

In this issue, the investigation team went to Tokyo, Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange HIMALAYA EXCHANGE (licensee: Bitgate Co., Ltd.) as planned according to its registered regulatory address that 7/F, 1-12-1 Sumiyoshi-cho, Naka-ku, Yokohama-shi, Kanagawa-ken, Tokyo.

The latest information signals that licensee Bitgate Co., Ltd. has been renamed Himalaya Japan Co., Ltd., which is located at BRIGHT AKIHABARA in Taito-ku. The survey team arrived at the destination on March 3, 2023, and spotted the company’s physical business office on the 3rd floor of the building. Meanwhile, the company was operating business normally during opening hours with cryptocurrency related documents on its office door. There was no reception desk or security guard so that people were allowed to enter freely.

Conclusion

The survey personnel went to Tokyo, Japan to visit the cryptocurrency exchange HIMALAYA EXCHANGE as scheduled, and found the company’s physical business office.
