On-site visit
In this issue, the survey team went to Mauritius to visit cryptocurrency exchange RMD Trader as planned according to its regulatory address that 8th Floor, Ebene Tower, 52 Cybercity, Ebene, Mauritius, 72201.
The investigators came to 52 Cybercity in Ebene of Mauritius for an on-site visit to the exchanges office and located the Ebene Tower. The commercial building was fenced off due to an overall renovation, with only an entrance for workers on-site.
After communicating with the security officer, the survey personnel were allowed to enter the building for further investigation. However, they found that all the offices in the building were empty and the elevator was only available for the construction workers. Moreover, RMD Traders website did not provide other address information.
Through the on-site investigation, it is confirmed that the broker does not have a physical presence at the location.
Conclusion
The survey team went to Mauritius to visit cryptocurrency exchange RMD Trader, but didn‘t find the company’s office at its regulatory address. Accordingly, investors should be meticulous in choosing the exchange.
